Some weeks back, I wrote about the Cloud lamp from DCS Corporation in Japan.  Today, I bring the Takekago floor lamp (above) from the same company.  What I like about this lamp is not only its obvious beauty but its versatility … some people see Japanese minimalism, others may see Tiki Bar kitsch or subdued Thai elegance or even 70’s groove – all of which are correct.  My immediate thought was Peter Marino Ocean Front Home interior …“Tropical glamour”?

The round bamboo globe measures 9.1/4 in. | 23.5 cm. (high) and 10 in. | 25.5 cm. (diameter).  Including the base, the fixture is 63 in. | 160 cm. (tall) and 15 in. | 38 cm. (diameter) and retails in Japan for about US$750.00.  It occurs to me that it also makes for a chic table lamp, but you would have to fabricate a shorter base.
