In this, his second project in the town of Highland Park in Dallas, Texas, New York interior designer and art advisor Richard Rabel worked closely with his clients on their handsome new home; first as Design Consultant to insure uniformity across the project working alongside their architect in reconfiguring and expanding the original 1939 Georgian Revival home and second, as their Interior Designer and Decorator.

The decoration directive was complicated – the clients had a laundry list of inherited antiques they insisted on incorporating into the décor, but at the same time, they did not want the spaces to feel like “granny lives here”. Subtle persuasion encouraged expanding their comfort zone, and what could have been fuddy-duddy rooms, resulted in fresh, transitionally classic spaces. The pared down architectural details and the newly acquired art did wonders in pulling the project together. The outcome of this Highland Park – Dallas interior design undertaking results in harmonious rooms that really look and feel like the conservative modern family that lives in them.
