Pitcher perfect!

Georg Jensen’s Danish silversmiths have been creating some of the world’s most recognized modern silver since the firm began in 1904.  Over 100 years later, they’re still producing tasteful and much sought after designs in jewelry, silver flatware and hollow ware.  I personally prefer the vintage pieces with their gleaming patina that gives them a sense of distinction.

The pitcher here illustrated is a charming example of the best of 1930s Jensen silver.  The simplicity of the modernist and deco movements is captured in the organic fluidity of this piece.  I particularly love how the handle delicately curves up and over the spout, all while the globular body rests on a tiny stepped base.  Truly a graceful balancing act!
Jensen’s designs can be found in their shops worldwide and their vintage pieces appear regularly at auction.
