One of the my favorite pieces of furniture for home interiors exhibited at the Salone del Mobile in Milan earlier this year, was the BipBip side table exhibited by Promemoria and designed by members of the artistic Sozzi family.
An alternative to the oversized side table which can all too easily become covered in decorative tchotchkes, this is a sleek, modern and sophisticated bronze table that can be ordered in an array of tops – from inlays in horn, wood, skins and leathers to the plain polished bronze in gold or silver to coordinate with any décor. Simple and elegant. Bravo!
As with so many family ateliers in Italy, the Sozzi are remarkable. They were established in the 19th century in a village on Lake Como to restore and repair the horse drawn coaches of the local aristocracy. With this came knowledge and experience in dealing with metal and fine woods which they have today parlayed into exquisite furniture pieces of the highest quality and exacting standards.
