It was like a burst sunlight when I discovered the work of Marc Bankowsky, the French contemporary designer and creator of the infinitely gorgeous and nature inspired candle-holders and sconces above. Some are in patinated bronze others in silvered bronze and yet others in bronze with a 24 karat gold veneer … super delectable! Purveyor of accessories to numerous non plus ultra establishments including the Peter Marino designed Haute Couture Christian Dior Boutique in Paris, Marc’s work is First Class. His attention to the most minute detail and his originality of shape make him, like his compatriot Hervé van der Straeten, one of today’s premier and collectable designers.
Marc (and by coincidence Hervé) is represented by Manhattan-based Maison Gerard which specialize in fine French and American 20th century furniture, lighting and exquisite object d’art. The owners Gerard and Benoist and gallery director Christopher are some of the most professional, fair and nicest people one could ever deal with and it gives me great joy to have worked with them this past year.
