It is really with this generation of product designers and artists that art with function has entered mainstream thinking and never before has there been such closeness between the fine and applied arts as there is today. A perfect example of this are the brilliant wood sculptures of South Korean artist Lee Jaehyo.
Lee started exhibiting as recently as 2000 and has garnered numerous commissions from all over the world. Finally his perfect craft has been recognized! The beauty of his pieces lies in the arrangement of natural materials and his skillful formation of these into practical everyday utilitarian objects like chairs or benches that expose the inner nature of wood. How deliciously wonderful are these!
