Kansas City’s modernist duo

The art and design talent on either coast of the USA often grabs all the attention, but sometimes it pays to look for the stars in middle America.

And this is exactly what happened to me when I was recently introduced to the collaborative art + design work of husband/wife, artist/designer, Kansas City-based Rie Egawa and Burgess Zbryk. In particular, I really, really loved their screens (I admittedly have an obsession with these lately!).
Both their Puzzle Screen (top) and the Walnut Screen (below) can be custom made and are an artistic, beautiful and midcentury inspired way to create a sense of intimacy in a room while at the same time allowing a visual connection to its other areas.  Simply fabulous and very 21st!
