Shopping NYC Auctions for less than US$1000

Shopping the New York auctions can be a daunting task, but if you keep an eye on the prize, it can turn into a rewarding experience. In my third and last of a series of guest features for Canada’s The Rik Rak Studio (The 1st was on sculpture hopping through NY parks; the 2nd was on shopping my favorite home shops in SOHO), I approach 3 different auction houses which you may not have heard of (Doyle, Swann and Bonhams) and shop for quality items estimated at less than US$1,000. Check out this 3rd feature here.
In conjunction with this final posting, and compliments of my friends at the Wall Street Journal, I’m giving away (via The Rik Rak Studio) a signed copy of the newly released book by Architectural Digest’s “Dean of Design” designer Carleton Varney’s Mr. Color: The Greenbrier and Other Decorating Adventures with a list price of US$95.00. The last day to enter is this Friday, 11 November @ 10:59pm Eastern time. You can enter to win here.
With this, a final good ol’ American shout-out to The RikRak Studio for her friendship, kindness and most of all, fabulousness!!!
