In searching to an alternative for fixed directed light for bedside or living-room reading use, I found this sturdy, easy to place and very usable reading light. Designed in 1979 by Luigi Caccia Dominioni, the Lampada Poltona comes in black, natural or bordeaux leather strap (15.8 x 3.9 in. | 40 x  10 cm.) and brass, chrome or nickel  – special order – fixture (3.1/2 in. | 9 cm. diameter). It sells for under US$1,000 through SuiteNY.  The days of falling out of bed to turn off the light are gone!
