Stark minimalist architecture has its following, and nowhere is it better embraced than in Sitges, a hilly quasi-suburb of Barcelona. Here Geibar Constructores and Brazilian-born, Barcelona-based interior architect Jorge Rangel have put together an outstanding contemporary minimalist home for those delighted by natural light and cured of the squirreling-syndrome of collecting!

There are two unifying forces in this contemporary project. The obvious lack of color (white works terribly well in spaces where the main focus is to bring the outside in) and the clear, see-through sheets of glass used in the interior and exterior walls AND in parts of the floors to enable more light to penetrate the interior.

The 4-floor home with sweeping views of the blue Mediterranean consists of a parking garage; home office and sitting area; living room, dining room and kitchen and the top floor has the master bedroom with its open-concept bathroom.

The decoration is lean yet sufficient for rooms where the main attraction is the view, and the pops of playful colors serve to warm up the modern space.
