Back on 27 July, I wrote about a sublime bedroom and bathroom by my insanely talented colleague Jeff Andrews in California. This post was so well received that it catapulted itself to the top of my all-time popular posts.  Recently, I was reviewing some material and BAM, here he was again.  How gorgeous and inviting are his spaces, in particular this bathroom? How could I not share this with you?!

There are so many positive elements in this bathroom I don’t even know where to start.  Something to note, is that the space itself would be pretty ordinary if it weren’t for the materials Jeff so brilliantly picked.  They sing SO well together.  Another thing is the design of the ceiling.  Jeff could have built a common slick white ceiling which would have made the bathroom pretty and acceptable.  Instead, he envisioned a chic version of a rough-hewn ceiling, perhaps from a stable or a run down house in Provence or Tuscany, and pulled it off with consummate skill!  The entire space is refined, inviting, and warm.  If you take anything from this post let it be that the devil is in the details and Jeff Andrews for one, is a master at these.
