art deco style for the tabletop: Georg Jensen’s bling

Wearing my art advisor cap, I often encourage my clients to buy decorative arts that have a use.  As an example, this pair of beautiful  art nouveau / art deco  open silver salts by Scandinavian designer Georg Jensen can readily be used on anybody’s tabletop, regardless of their decorating style.

So banish the Eiffel tower salt and pepper shakers you picked up in Europe after college!
Simple and delightfully elegant, with their pierced foliate and beaded foot, I think you’ll agree your guests will be much more impressed with these babies.  And in a way, it’s kind of decadent to have these on your table … they’re very ancienne régime, if you know what I mean … and all for under US$1,000. Bon appetite!
