a ménage à trois of vintage luxury: Jaeger-LeCoultre, Hermès and Paul Dupré-Lafon

Today something a little unusual, and a great reminder that there has always been, and always will be, a luxury goods market.  Imagine this sublime terrestrial globe and clock on your grandfather’s desk:  in glass, chrome and leather created by Jaeger-LeCoultre for Hermès and likely designed by luxe architect and decorator Paul Dupré-Lafon (1900-1970).  So voguish and terribly modern and progressive for 1935 and a now a fine statement piece for a sophisticated modern office.

A reminder that luxury goods may change, but quality will last.
