At the forefront of LED technology, Helsinki-based Saas Instruments introduced this wonderfully shaped pendant at the Milan Furniture Fair earlier in the year.
Designed by Finnish interior architect Samuli Naamanka, I love the fact that when looked at from the bottom, its silhouette reminds me of the cross-section of one of those glorious nautilus shells. The shade is made from a by-product of sugar starch and so it is 100% biodegradable. And while you might think this means cheap looking, think again. Its outside finish gives the shade a chic-glam look.
