I ran across this table earlier in the year when it debuted in the Milan Furniture Design Fair and found its shape yummy enough to get an image for my files. The Quark table is designed by the multi-talented French designer Emmanuel Babled for the Italian firm Metea and measures 32.3/4 x 48.1/4 x 11.3/4 in. | 83 x 122.5 x 30 cm. Truly a pan-European effort!!!
What I really like about the table is that it can easily go into pretty much any interior whether elegant, slightly precious and traditional or informal, totally relaxed and contemporary. Either way, it would be a beacon of attention in a larger room where its visual mass is not impaired. The globular base of the table feels very organic and likely a result of the many years the designer spent in the glass factories of Murano. I can so picture Emmanuel huffing, puffing and turning the wood like glass and ending with this perfect and curvy design!
