I was recently interviewed by Ohio-based interior design maven Lisa M. Smith, principal of the studio Interior Design Factory and founder of the Décor Girl blog, to discuss the “nitty gritty” of buying at auction.
As a former insider with the international auction house of Christie’s and my current practice as an interior designer and art advisor, I know a few things you definitely need to know prior to buying at auction. Here is my conversation with Lisa. Hope it’s helpful!

P.S. – Modenus is running a feature to select the Top 100 International Interior Design Blogs including, ahem, ahem … The Modern Sybarite.
Check out the evolving list and if the urge to vote strikes you, a “Thumbs UP” for the Sybarite would be MOST welcome and appreciated on that site. To see the list and vote, click here.
